The LASER Trial is up and running! Welcome to our blog. We will keep you updated on trial progress as we approach our anticipated date of first patient recruitment – 1st May 2014. As we speak the trial is undergoing review by the Research Ethics Committee – a necessary requirement for all clinical trials prior to participants being enrolled. We have expanded the number of recruiting sites and are pleased to welcome Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool to the team. We now have 5 recruiting sites with Portsmouth, Southampton, Birmingham and Leicester already on board and busy preparing for patient recruitment.

The Portsmouth team have randomised 15 patients for participation in the trial and screening has begun at other centres across the country.
