On Wednesday 21st May, the Respiratory Research team at Aintree University Hospital (http://www.aintreehospitals.nhs.uk) welcomed the LASER trial team to the Respiratory Research Department for a Site Initiation Visit (SIV.) The Site Initiation Visit is an important meeting required to prepare and set up a research site prior to patient recruitment.
Dr. Kevin Mortimer (Respiratory Consultant) and his team are confident that they will be able to start screening patients for inclusion in the LASER trial by mid-June and we look forward to hearing about their progress.
This is a very exciting time for the LASER trial as new sites are being opened across the country and we are able to offer Temperature-controlled Laminar Airflow treatment to a wider group of patients.
We look forward to working closely with Dr. Mortimer and his team.
